Tyger! Tyger! burning bright

I had an ultrasound this morning and everything looks well with our little one. Morgan should be having a baby brother sometime in mid-June! We're very excited to meet our next addition.

In the car, we asked Morgan for name suggestions for her little brother. Tiger. Mom and Dad are leaning towards a name that's a little more conventional. ; )

Weekly Assignment #2 - Breakfast

After getting my new dSLR (swoon!!), I've been playing with it quite a bit and wanting to learn more about manual mode. I joined a board that's focused on photography and we're working on weekly assignments. This week was breakfast - a hard one! But, I think I managed to get a few good pics this morning.

Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a spider can

Morgan's birthday is coming up soon. I really need to get on the party planning! Last night I asked her (again!) what type of birthday party she wanted and offered some suggestions - Dora, Elmo, Curious George, Thomas...

We were in the car, driving home from daycare, and she suggested Teletubbies. Seems a bit young for her, but if that's what she wants, I'd do it. I told her we'd check when we got home. Well, it doesn't look like Teletubbies themes are available at the party stores.

But...

Spiderman is! She saw the little Spiderman picture online and that's what she wants! So, my little tomboy will have a Spiderman-themed party.

Hot Chocolate

She had her first Hot Chocolate on Monday. Not surprisingly, she liked it!

thomas = either hummus or Thomas the Train, depending on context

As she gets closer to three, I can see more attitude emerging, but at the same time she's so much fun!

Finished Clouds

As promised, here's the finished cloud necklace. The finished pendant measures 2" across at it's widest point and 2 1/4" long. I've hung it from a 16" sterling silver chain with a handmade swirl clasp. This is one of my favorite pieces so far!

Slightly overcast

This is a work in progress - sterling silver rings soldered together to form a cloud. This is my first "big" soldering project. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out! I'll be working on smoothing out the solder joints and polishing it up. I'll post pics of the finished product as well. I'm playing around with the idea of adding peacock pearls as raindrops. The piece would be titled Slightly Overcast with a Chance of Rain.
